JAMMU: Senior IAS officer Santosh D. Vaidya has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir, relieving Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta of the additional charge of the post.
A 1998 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, Vaidya, who has earlier served as Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister and also in the World Bank, was posted to Jammu and Kashmir last week.
On Friday, the UT government issued his posting orders.
“Santosh D. Vaidya, IAS (AGMUT:1998) is posted as Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department relieving Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS, Chief Secretary, Union territory of J&K of the additional charge of the post,” said an official order.
Vaidya would also hold the charge of Chairman & Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation Limited (JKIDFC), in addition to his own duties, till further orders, the order added.
“The files of the Finance department shall continue to be submitted as per Government Order No. 1026-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 02.11.2020,” said the order.
Meanwhile in a separate order, the government nominated Vaidya as Chairman of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC).
“In exercise of powers vested in the Government of Jammu and Kashmir under Section 15(1) of the State Finance Corporation Act, 1951, Santosh D. Vaidya, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department, is hereby nominated as Chairman, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC) for a period not exceeding three years or till further orders in place of Vikramjit Singh, IPS, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Industries and Commerce Department,” said the order.
