Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police busted another sex racket in Nowabad area, third in three months. Meanwhile, Police have seized a Gujjar Nagar based hotel reportedly involved in sex trade. Bahu Fort police swung into action and seized the hotel on the directions of district administration. Hotel owner has also been asked to give clarification to the Deputy Commissioner within seven days in this regard.
Nowabad Police on Saturday night arrested four persons including two Kashmiris from the house of a local woman at Bhawani Nagar area.
An official said that following inputs regarding the operation of a sex racket at the house of Renu Gupta, a resident of Nowabad area of Jammu, a team of Jammu Kashmir police raided the house of the woman.
During the raid at the house of a local woman at Bhawani Nagar in Nawabad, Jammu,two Kashmiri men were caught in a compromising position with two women.
“All the four have been taken into detention,” police said. Earlier, the inmates did not open the gate of the house which forced the police personnel to break into the house and the four were taken into detention.
The official identified the duo as Liyakat Ali and Mohammed Sharief, both residents of Pahalgam in Ananatnag district. Police have registered a case in this regard under the number 88/2023 at Police station Nawabad.
Further, Bahu Fort police Sunday seized the hotel in Gujjar Nagar on the disclosure of a missing girl who was recovered from Katra.The girl told police that a pimp- Swarna, sent her to a Katra hotel. She told police that the pimp had hired a hotel in Gujjar Nagar also for flesh trade. Based on the disclosure, police wrote to the district administration and seized the hotel. Police have also lifted the pimp and hotel staff for further investigation.
Earlier in the month of May, a Probationer Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police and his friend were booked in a kidnapping case. Both were found with the minor girl in a 5-star hotel’s room in Jewel Chowk.
Identified as Sardar Ali, a PSI, son of BDC Chairman Bain Bajalta namely Rehmat Ali and Muzafar Ali, a resident of Samba was found in inebriated condition when a police party conducted a raid in the hotel along with a minor girl from Raika area.
In April, a sex racket that was operating out of a hotel near Jewel Chowk Jammu was busted and five people were arrested.
The Police raided a hotel where the scandal was being run during which several persons were arrested. Two young women and three men running the scandal were arrested. They were identified as Mohammed Altaf of Kupwara Handwara, Asif Bhat of Anantnag and Tejh Krishan of Nagrota Jagti.The trio later confessed in the Police custody that they brought young women from Kashmir promising them jobs and later clicked their photographs and used the photographs to blackmail them and used them in the sex racket.
