JAMMU: As if the trouble for the students taking the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) this year was not enough, their parents who accompany them to their examination centres in far-off cities outside Jammu and Kashmir are now facing the wrath of the hot summer, in absence of requisite arrangements for them outside the examination centres.
With no arrangement for their seating, these people could be seen sitting on roadsides or standing outside the examination halls, in the scorching Sun.
“Unlike locals, we have come from Rajouri. We cannot afford a hotel so we waited at the bus stand till morning and then came to the examination centre with our daughter,” said a woman whose daughter’s examination was conducted at Amritsar in Punjab.
It may be mentioned that a number of students of the union territory have suffered at the hands of NTA which has allotted their examination centres to different cities outside Jammu and Kashmir.
