LEH: Paving the path for preparing students for successful careers in accountancy and finance, the University of Ladakh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SEPPL, a company established by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA Global Professional Accounting Body) to conduct and deliver its operations in India.
The MoU was signed by Lucia-Real Martin, Executive Director Relationships, and Prof S K Mehta, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh in the presence of a team from the University of Ladakh and ACCA on Monday.
Under the MoU, the university of Ladakh and SEPPL would undertake joint partnership programs supporting the training and development of students to prepare them for successful careers in accountancy and finance; explore and create new pathways for students to further their education and enhance their careers in accountancy and finance; enhance the employability of students through capacity building and other relevant areas of mutual cooperation.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Mehta expressed the hope that such collaboration would go a long way in preparing students as accounting and auditing professionals for the global market.
Lucia- Real Martin said that India being an emerging market, will require a vast number of accounting and auditing professionals in the years to come and ACCA certifications can help meet this job market’s needs.
