MP Ladakh JTN slams RECPDCL over slow pace of work, seeks deployment details

LEH: Expressing his anguish over the slow pace of work, Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgial has sought from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) the details of man and machinery deployed along with the deployment plan at the earliest.

Jamyang Tsering Namgial, accompanied by Secretary, Power Development Department, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar visited the tower construction site of the 220 KV Transmission line between Phyang and Nubra.

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited is the project implementing agency for the 220 KV Phyang to Nobra transmission line and Drass-Zanskar 220 KV transmission line, being implemented under the Prime Minister’s Development Package.

The representative of RECPDCL appraised MP Ladakh about the ongoing construction works on the transmission line to which the MP expressed his dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the work.

He asked the project implementing agency (PIA) to submit details of man and machinery deployed along with the deployment plan at the earliest.

“The project must be completed within the targeted time of completion,” the MP stressed.

Secretary Ravinder Kumar directed the PIA and contractors to complete the works at difficult locations of Khardongla on priority parallelly with other works of erection and stringing of lines so that the project is completed within the specified timeline.

Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer along with their team were also present during the visit.

Meanwhile, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated a new bus at the Government High School Matho in presence of Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse; Chief Education Officer, Sonam Dorjay; Director of Education, Tsering Paldan and Headmaster, Stanba Thinless.

The bus, which has been acquired under the Pradhan Mantri Khanji Kshetra Kalyan Yojana and the District Mineral Foundation Trust, is set to enhance transportation facilities for students.

The MP Ladakh added that the newly inaugurated bus will provide improved transportation services for students attending the Government High School, enabling them to commute conveniently and safely. Further, he congratulated the Matho villagers, parents and staff. Also, he expressed gratitude to the Matho Tsogspa for taking care of the bus driver salary.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of local authorities, school staff, students, parents and community members who expressed their appreciation for the bus.
