LEH: A number of delegations called on Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retired) on Tuesday at Raj Niwas and raised their respective issues with him.
A delegation from Ibex Colony composed of Nambardar Sonam Rigzin and members briefed the LG of the necessary developmental projects being carried out in the colony post intervention of the LG in their previous meeting.
They made requests to expedite the process of plot allotment to more potential beneficiaries within the designated colony. LG discussed the matter with the Chairperson, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson and asked him to address the matter appropriately.
Serving and retired Ladakhi employees of State Forest Cooperation of erstwhile state of J&K apprised the LG of grievances regarding the terms of engagement in the current department of their service viz. Divisional Forest Office Leh.
The LG directed the concerned Departmental Secretary to look into the matter to address the issue.
Ven Skarma Lotus apprised the LG that his services as Wildlife Informer-cum-Watcher, were discontinued and requested for re-engagement. The LG discussed the matter with the Principal Secretary, Forest & Wildlife Ladakh and asked to look into the matter for appropriate actions.
President and Members of the Bar Association apprised the LG of the various issues being faced by them in carrying out their business and made requests in this regard. The LG discussed the matter with the Secretary, Excise Department of Ladakh and instructed to look into the matter to resolve genuine issues.
Meanwhile, the LG also chaired a meeting to deliberate on possible steps to address the issue of exorbitant airfare in the peak seasons and the current shortage of flight to & from Ladakh.
