Leh: The administration of Ladakh Union Territory has sought suggestions from the general public on recommendations made by a three-member committee over proposing its state tree and state flower.
In a notice the administration said that a three-member committee has recommended Juniper polypros (Ladakhi-Shuk-Pa) and Meconopsis aculeata (Himalayan blue poppy/ Ladakhi Tser-sNon) as state tree and state flower respectively.
The three-member committee was headed by Director, Sowa Rigpa. According to the notice, suggestions, if any, can be sent to administration within a period of thirty days.
“Suggestions may be sent by email at [email protected] or by post to the below-mentioned address: Office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest/ Chief Wildlife Warden, 2nd floor, Wildlife Building, Near Civil Secretariat,” reads the notice.
