Kargil: The vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Kargil road remained off on Tuesday, even as the authorities have restricted the Kargil-Zanskar and Padum-Darcha road for traffic for Wednesday.
Due to repetitive huge avalanches between Gumri and Minamarg, immediate widening needs to be done, in view of this, 18th and 19th April would be be observed as dry days. “There was no vehiclular movement over Zojila axis on Tuesday and the same arrangement would continue on Wednesday,” said a police official.
An official advisory said that Kargil Zanskar Road and Padum Darcha (Shingkula) Road will be off for traffic on Wednesday.
There would be no vehicle movement over Penzila axis from both side of Zanskar and Panikhar (Kargil) on Wednesday. Similarly, no vehicle movement would be allowed over Shungkula axis from both side of Darcha (HP) & Zanskar (Kargil), said the advisory.
