JAMMU: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh on Tuesday asked the security agencies to keep a close watch on overground workers (OGWs) of terrorists in the Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban Range in Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh chaired a meeting of police officers here to review the crime situation in the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range.
DIG DKR Range Sunil Gupta, SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom and SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal attended the meeting.
“Keep close watch on OGWs and identify new ones, if any,” Singh told officers and emphasised on action against known drug peddlers in the range.
The ADGP Jammu Zone stressed on quality investigation in cases being probed by the police.
He said special focus should be given to cases related to terrorism and those registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
It was informed that some cases of each Police Station have been identified for close monitoring and ‘pairvi’ so that the cases end in conviction.
Singh also called for action against drug peddlers in the range.
It may be mentioned that ADGP Singh on Monday had visited district Reasi and held a joint meeting of district heads and DIGs of Rajouri and Reasi with regard to conduct of operations along the boundary of Reasi and Rajouri.
