DGP sanctions over rupees 2.14 crore as Special Welfare Relief/Loan for Police personnel

Jammu: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh sanctioned over Rs 2.14 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoK of deceased Police personnel/SPO and welfare loan for serving Police personnel. He sanctioned Rs 1.39 lakh as scholarship for the wards of deceased Police personnel and meritorious scholarship for the wards of serving Police personnel.

He has sanctioned special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel SI(M) Ashok Singh, ASI Mohd Rafiq, HC Pawanjeet Singh, HC Verinder Kumar, HC Farooq Ahmad, HC Rajinder Singh, SgCt Jagjit Singh, Ct. Altaf Hussain, Ct Rahul Raina and Follower Mohammed Ashraf who passed away during service due to health-related issues besides sanctioning special relief of Rs 6 lakh in favour of NoK of deceased SPO Gurdeep Singh who expired due to illness during the course of his engagement with the department.

DGP also sanctioned welfare loan of Rs 10.95 lakh besides Rs 45000 as Welfare Relief in favour of four personnel for their self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents.

The grant of Welfare Relief/loan is sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Funds.

Meanwhile, DGP sanctioned scholarship of Rs 5000 each for the academic year 2021-2022 in favour of 12 school going wards of deceased Police personnel who passed away while in service. He also sanctioned meritorious scholarship in favour of 12 wards of serving police personnel who had secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of Class 12th during the Academic Session 2021-22 out of Central Police Welfare Fund. Rs 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of six wards who have secured above 90% marks and Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of six wards who have secured above 80% marks.
