Leh: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) visited Ranbirpur to inspect the site of the Capitol Complex along with discussion and review of the Master Plan of the Complex.

Commissioner Secretary, PWD, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, informed the LG that the Capitol Complex will comprise Raj Niwas, Secretariat, Convention Centre along with a guest house, a helipad, sports ground, power sub-station, shopping complex, bus stand, sewage treatment plant (STP), Yatri Niwas, health centre, residential buildings, etc.

He also informed the LG about the need to revise the plan due to the lack of land for few components of the Master Plan. He further informed LG about the plan to develop the area behind the Capitol Complex to avoid haphazard construction in the future.

Sahu also informed about developing a shopping centre for the benefit of the people of Ranbirpur and Stakna villages. He also informed that the water used in the Capitol Complex will be recycled and reused.

The LG instructed the concerned officials for maximum utilisation of the land and the funds allocated for the Capitol Complex. He also instructed the officials to avoid wastage of funds and to ensure that the Capitol Complex has all modern facilities for the benefit of the people of Ladakh.

Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Commissioner Secretary, PWD, Ajeet Kumar Sahu; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse and officials from CPWD, Revenue Department and other departments were present at the Capitol Complex site.
