Leh: The registration for the Ladakh Marathon, considered one of the most difficult marathons, commenced on Friday, with the registrations soaring with each passing hours.
Witnessing the altitude as high as 13000 feet and going up to 17618 feet, the tenth editon of the Ladakh marathon will be organised from September 7 to 10, this year.
The UT Administration, Ladakh hill councils, village societies, Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Ladakh Scouts and the ITBP come together to organise Ladakh Marathon.
First held in 2012 in a show of solidarity after the devastating flash-floods, the Ladakh Marathon is an annual event certified by Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The first edition witnessed participation of around 1600 runners, which has increased ever since, with the last year’s marathon witnessing more than 6000 participants from India and around the world.
