Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting with the departmental secretaries to review the progress of developmental projects along with pending works in their respective departments, at Raj Niwas.
LG discussed issues related to the daily wagers/casual/ad-hoc/consolidated workers working in different departments of Ladakh and the honorarium/salaries being paid to them. He also inquired about the issues related to the irrigation canal at Tyakshi, the rise in the number of flu symptoms among children in Ladakh; the drinking water issue at Sankoo; the delay in the implementation of the lift irrigation scheme at Karkitchoo in Kargil and also issues related to the lift irrigation scheme at Sodh block in Kargil, etc.
Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, informed LG about the steps being taken to tap the potential of the lift irrigation project at Tyakshi. He also informed that the feasibility of the revival of 32 defunct canals at Tyakshi is also being examined. He also informed about the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission to make potable drinking water accessible to all the people, including those living in remote villages. Shri Sahu also informed about measures being taken for the lift-irrigation schemes at Karkitchoo and Sodh.
Commissioner Secretary, Padma Angmo, informed LG about the preparation of the final draft of the Ladakh Disability Rules.
