Leh: As a part of series of G20/Y20 events, a one-day workshop on the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020) and its implementation in the constituent colleges and University of Ladakh was held at the Govt. Degree College, Nubra.
The workshop aimed to discuss the salient features, potential impact, and implementation of the NEP-2020.
The workshop was organised by the Admission and Examination Committee of the college, and was graced by the presence of Prof. Deskyong Namgyal (Controller of Examination UoL) and Prof. Tashi Ldawa (Dean Academic Affairs UoL), who served as the resource persons for the event.
Principal, GDC Nubra, Dr. Tsewang Motup welcomed the guests and participants to the workshop.
Prof. Tashi Dawa focused on the challenges and opportunities presented by the NEP-2020, particularly in the context of the Ladakh region. He stressed on the importance of contextualizing the policy to suit the local needs and aspirations of the people of Ladakh and emphasized the need for active participation and collaboration among stakeholders to achieve this.
Prof. Namgyal highlighted the key features of the policy, such as the emphasis on skill-based education, the introduction of a multidisciplinary approach, and the promotion of online and digital learning. He also highlighted the draft NEP-2020 of the University of Ladakh and its effective implementation and ensured the success of the policy in the constituent colleges of the University of Ladakh. He further emphasised the need and importance of continuing such initiatives to promote critical thinking, awareness, and engagement among the stakeholders.
The workshop also witnessed interactive sessions, where participants shared their opinions, insights, and queries on various aspects of the policy.
