Offices in Ladakh to remain open on Sundays, holidays to maximise expenditure

LEH: As the financial year draws to a closure, the offices in Leh will remain open on Sundays as well as on public holidays to maximise the financial expenditure. This was informed by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, who on Saturday reviewed the physical as well as the financial progress of the planned developmental projects of the financial year 2022-23 of LAHDC Leh.

The CEC also reviewed and discussed the formulation of the District CAPEX Budget for the financial year 2023-24 of Leh district.

In two shifts of meetings, CEC Gyalson took a sector-wise review of the physical targets that have been achieved and the expenditures incurred under various departments including Education, Health, Tourism, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Power, R&B, PHE, I&FC Divisions of the district.

CEC Gyalson directed all HoDs to ensure timely expenditure of the allotted fund and also to prepare the action plan effectively for the District Plan of LAHDC Leh for the financial year 2023-24.  He also directed to open offices on Sundays/ public holiday to achieve the maximum financial expenditure.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk; EC Rural, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; EC, Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; EC, Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Suse; Head of the Departments of Health, Tourism, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Power, R&B, PHE, and I&FC including the Executive Engineers from all the sub-divisions of Leh.

Earlier in the day, the CEC reviewed the arrangements being made for the visit of H.H. 14th Dalai Lama to the sham region this year, with a delegation comprising members of the Sham Coordination Committee.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Leh Phu-Dho area also called on CEC Gyalson and discussed several public issues and raised various demands of the Leh Phu-Dho area to the Chairman, LAHDC Leh.

Taking note of their grievances, CEC Gyalson assured the delegation to resolve the issues soon.
