LEH: The union territory of Ladakh has geared up to celebrate Earth Hour on Saturday late evening, with Lieutenant Governor Brigadier B D Mishra appealing the people to make the event successful.
In a video message, the LG said that the people of Ladakh have to come together and take this initiative for the human race as ‘we all have only one earth, one family and one future’.
“Our role for the noble cause would be necessary. We must shut down all unnecessary gadgets on March 25 at 8:30 to 9:30 pm,” said the LG and urged the residents to pledge to use energy in a sustainable way so as to save and keep natural resources and liveable earth for the future generations.
The Department of Information and PR in Leh as well as Kargil have also urged the people to be part of ‘Earth Hour’, to be observed under the theme ‘The Biggest Hour for Earth’ on March 25.
