Kathua: Kathua Police today recovered 400 grams of Charas, 150 grams of Ganja like narcotics along with cash amounting Rs. 4,20,000 from the possession of a shopkeeper. The catch was made at Chapper Morh area, Hiranagar.

Police said that information was received through reliable sources at Police Station Hiranagar that one person namely Sudesh Mehta son of Parkash Chand of Chapper, Hiranagar was involved in illegal trade of selling narcotics to the youth in his shop at Chapper Morh area.

Acting swiftly a Police team led by Inspector Amit Sangra SHO Police Station Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border Pankaj Soodan-JKPS conducted a surprise check in his shop at the Chapper Morh area and found Charas and Ganja. Police also recovered a whopping amount of Rs 4,20,000 which was raised by selling the narcotics to the youth of the area. Police said that a case vide FIR No. 42/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused person at Police Station Hiranagar.
