22 Girls from Ladakh to participate in Hero 27th Senior Women’s National Football Championship 2022-23 for first time

Leh: A team of 22 girls from UT Ladakh shall be participating in the Hero 27th Senior Women’s National Football Championship 2022-23 to be held at Chattishgarh from March 26- April 9, 2023.

The team, along with four officials, Harpreet Bedi as Head Coach, Tsering Dorjay as Asst. Coach, Tashi Dolker as Manager and Dolma Lhamo as Physiotherapist, will be leaving for Chhatisgarh on 22nd March to compete in the prestigious national tournament. This is the first time that a team from the region is participating in the senior women’s national football championship.

Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar flagged off the team and wished them all the best. ‘The team comprises talented and skilled players who are eager to showcase their abilities on a national level. We are confident that they will make UT Ladakh proud and put up a strong performance in the tournament.’ stated Secretary Kumar.

Extending his best wishes to the team and officials, Secretary Kumar hoped that their participation would inspire more girls in UT Ladakh to take up football and pursue their passion for sports.
