New Delhi: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson along with BJP Ladakh’s State President, Phunchok Stanzin, and General Secretary, Dr Skalzang Dorjey called on Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed with him various issues confronting Ladakh.
During the meeting, CEC Gyalson-led delegation highlighted the various developmental projects that have been completed in Ladakh since its formation as a Union Territory.
They also informed how people are getting benefited in basic essentials including telecommunication, drinking water facilities through JJM, construction of strategic roads, bridges, and buildings, promotion of tourism, and the improvement of healthcare and education facilities.
CEC Gyalson further expressed gratitude to HM Amit Shah, especially for special border outreach programs such as the Vibrant Villages Programme, Changthang Development Package, approval of Central University at Khaltse, sanctioning of Medical college, strengthening of Power Transmission lines, promotion of Green Energy, etc.
The delegation also apprised the Home Minister about the roles and functioning of the Hill Council and discussed the need for further strengthening. Besides, they further discussed developmental and other important issues with the HM during the meeting.
Earlier in the day, the delegation met with the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai and discussed developmental as well as political issues of Ladakh.
Speaking to the delegation, MoS Home, Nityanand Rai reaffirmed the union government’s commitment to work towards the overall development of Ladakh and also assured to take all necessary action to address other issues raised.
