LG Ladakh takes up cap on airfares issue with Scindia

Leh Feb 24 :- : Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra(Retd) on Friday held tele-

phonic interaction with Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, on the need to keep a cap on the airfares of the flights operating in Ladakh and also on regulating the cargo rates.

He also informed that the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), 21 Wing Leh, Air Commodore Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, has been told to operate Indian Air Force’s flights to airlift our people of Ladakh stranded at Jammu, Chandigarh and Delhi at the earliest. The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh fur-

ther informed them that an Immediate Assistance Cell would be constituted headed by Advisor to Lt Governor and comprising representatives from the Army, Air Force, Ladakh Police, Civil Administration and LAHDC Leh and Kargil representatives for quick help and redressal of issues faced by the public.

He highlighted the importance of both the Hill Councils of Leh and Kargil to work in close coordination with the UT Administration for the overall development of the region and for the benefit of the people of Ladakh.
