Leh: Advisor Ladakh Umang Narula was Friday called upon by Deputy CEC, LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk, Executive Councilor (Forest) LAHDC, Leh Ghulam Mehdi and Executive Councilor (Wildlife) LAHDC Leh.
They put forth matters about the rationalization of boundaries of Karakoram and Changthang wildlife sanctuaries.
Advisor Umang Narula directed Chief Wildlife Warden Sajjad Hussain Mufti to expedite the process of rationalization being carried out by Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
He further emphasized that the settlement of rights of the people residing in the wildlife sanctuaries must be completed for the benefit of the residents and urged Deputy CEC Angchuk to provide the assistance of the Council in this process.
Besides, Commissioner/Secretary Tourism informed that the Tourism department was only collecting information about existing homestays and their registration was not mandatory.
He clarified that the Tourism Department would issue clarification regarding this issue.
Additionally, the Banks were asked to expedite loan sanctions for eligible beneficiaries.
Principal Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Secretary Tourism Kacho Mehboob Khan and Convenor UTLBC Ladakh Tsering Motup were present during the meeting.
