MP Ladakh, CEC Leh and Ex MLA Nubra call on LG Mishra; several issues discussed

Leh, Feb 23: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) on Thursday met several delegations wherein Member of Parliament, Ladakh – Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh – Adv. Tashi Gyalson and former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Nubra, Deldan Namgail, at Raj Niwas in Leh.

The Member of Parliament, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in his interaction with LG held threadbare discussion. He discussed various development issues along with public welfare activities in both Leh and Kargil districts. He highlighted several issues, including the problems faced by the Ladakhi passengers due to exorbitant airfares.

Adv. Tashi Gyalson, CEC LAHDC Leh apprised the Lieutenant Governor of various ongoing developmental and public welfare projects in Leh district. He raised the issue faced by the Ladakhi passengers stranded in Jammu, Delhi and Chandigarh due to the overpriced airfares and the need for intervention in airlifting them to Ladakh. Shri Gyalson suggested airlifting the stranded passengers from Chandigarh to Thoise and from Jammu to Leh by IAF’s aircrafts.

Later, former MLA Nubra, Deldan Namgail called upon LG and congratulated him on assuming charge of Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

During discussion Deldan sought intervention from the Honb’le Lt Governor for resuming of airlift service for civilian passengers from Thoise Airport in Nubra to Chandigarh and vice-versa, particularly in the winters. He requested the Lieutenant Governor for his immediate intervention to airlift stranded Ladakhi passengers from Chandigarh to Thoise Airport.

Former MLA Nubra Deldan Namgail further also requested for district status for Nubra sub-division besides he sought for intervention from Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the competent authorities to enable banks to sanction loans for beneficiaries who want to set up businesses in Nubra valley. He also requested for intervention in the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs) to hotels, guest houses, camps and resorts by the Wildlife and Forest departments for the registration of these business units. He further requested for a single-window system for the registration and renewal of business units related to tourism and the extension of their business licenses for up to 10 years.

Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) gave patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegations and assured to look into the matter.
