War against Drugs meant to safeguard our future generations: DC B’pora

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 21: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed today chaired a meeting of district level Narco Coordination Committee (NCORD) meeting to take stock of the efforts made by various departments against drug abuse in the district.

 

At the outset, the departments involved apprised the chair regarding various measures taken up till date for curbing the drug menace and illegal drug trade in the district.

 

The meeting discussed various measures to be taken up in the war against drugs in the district.

 

The DC said the war against drugs is meant to safeguard our future generations and stressed on intensive awareness regarding ill effects of drug abuse. He directed concerned departments to make extra efforts in curbing drug menace.

 

The DC directed the concerned from Excise department and other concerned departments to share schedule of activities in advance with district administration and public in order to involve maximum youth and targeted age group in awareness programmes and other activities.

 

He also directed the concerned to submit an Action taken report to ADC office and asked the concerned from drug control department to strictly deal in field with defaulters and against those involved in illegal drug trade.

 

The meeting was attended by ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, ACD, DySP Bandipora, Dy. CEO Bandipora, BMO Bandipora and representatives of Excise department, Drug De-addiction centre and other concerned.
