Capacity building workshop for frontline workers of Wildlife & Forest Divn Kargil concludes

Kargil: Executive Councilor Wildlife, LAHDC, Kargil Mohsin Ali today attended the closing ceremony of two-day capacity-building workshop for frontline workers of Wildlife & Forest Division Kargil organized by Wildlife Protection Division Kargil in collaboration with World Wide-Fund for Nature (WWF) in Kargil.

 

During the program, Wildlife Warden Kargil, Raza Ali Abidi, resource persons of the WWF India, Rohit Rattan and Mohd Kazim, Researcher, Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Niyaz Khan and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

 

On the occasion, EC Mohsin appreciated and encouraged the organizers for organising such a workshop for the frontline workers of Wildlife & Forest Division Kargil.

 

The EC said such programs provide a platform for workers adding that such workshops are need of the hour. EC Mohsin said the Hill Council Kargil will also organize such workshops in the future.

 

Mohsin assured full support to Wildlife & Forest Division from the LAHDC, Kargil. He also assured that the demands and issues of workers will be taken up with the UT Administration through a proper channel.

 

During the workshop, the participating workers were sensitized and trained by the resource persons about wildlife management, principles of biodiversity, biogeography, biodiversity of Ladakh, community engagement for conservation, human-wildlife interactions, using basic survey and patrolling equipment, Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 and other environmental laws.
