Leh: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society (JKACS), Home Department Red Ribbon Club observed World AIDS Day by organising an Open-air Painting, Speech Competitions.
The painting and speech competition was based on the theme of World AIDS Day 2022: ‘Equalize: Achieving Equality to End HIV’. Principal EJM College Leh, Dr Sameena Iqbal, was the chief guest of the occasion.
Around 50 NSS volunteers participated in the painting competition and 20 NSS volunteers participated in the speech competition. To encourage the participating students’ cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners by Principal Dr Sameena Iqbal.
In the painting competition, Stanzin Odzer (2nd Semester) secured the first position, Tsewang Chuskit (2nd Semester) secured the second position and Rigzin Chorol (2nd Semester) secured the third position.
In the speech competition, Angmo Sherpa (4th Semester) secured the first position, Tsering Lazes (2nd Semester) secured the second position and Tsewang Namgyal (6th Semester) bagged the third position.
The members of the NSS Committee, including Asstt Prof/ Convenor Padma Wangchok; Asstt Prof Sonam Angmo; Asstt Prof Jigmet Yangdol, Asstt Prof Yangchan Dolma, Asstt Professor Tsering Chorol, organised the event.
