Amritsar: Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD), a more than century old organization has determined to impart education to the society with modern educational tools”, stated  Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, president CKD and Punjab Cabinet Minister. He was addressing a press conference here today in connection with 67th World Sikh Education Conference. 

Dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Bhai Vir Singh Ji, the CKD, is going to held three days long 67th World Sikh Education Conference at Sri Guru Harkrishan International School, D Block , Ranjit Avenue  from December 3rd to December 5th, 2022. 

Nijjar informed that a number of dignitaries including scholars, intellectuals, society leaders and religious personalities are to address the conference. He said that through such conference “we are putting efforts to spread awareness and all-round development of the Sikh society, which is much need of the hour”. 

Sardar Santokh Singh Sethi and General Secretary Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina while elaborating about the forthcoming conference informed that the conference will be started with the Bhog of Akhand Path Sahib and a Nagar Kitran begins from from Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, GT Road to Sri Guru Harkrishan International School. 

Thereafter, an exhibition will be showing Environment and Natural resources, books on Sikh history and paintings, Tanti Saaz (string instruments) and armour (Shastra). Agriculture and organic farming exhibition will be inaugurated. 

Various prominent ragies including Ragi Jatha Bibi Prabhjot Kaur, Bhai Shokin Singh Ji, Bhai Guriqbal Singh, Sri Guru Harkrishan International School Jatha, Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Bankwale will be taking part in the kirtan Darbar.

On second day, seminars will be held on various topics including Bhai Vir Singh Ji: Life and Philosophy, Contribution of Gurmat Camps in Propagation and Spread of Sikhism, significance  of Agriculture and Organic Farming, Women Empowerment – Role of women in Sikh religion,  The role of religious teachers in moral education methods and broadcasting. 

A felicitation ceremony will be held on the last day of the conference where Bhai Sahib Dr. Mahinder Singh Ji Nishkam Sewa (UK) will participate as a chief guest.

During the press conference, Hon. Secy. S. Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Hon. Secy. S. Ajit Singh Basra and CKD Management requested all the CKD members to actively participate in World Sikh Education Conference and make their valuable contribution towards its success.

At this occasion,  CKD President and Cabinet Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Honorary Secretary  S. Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Honorary Secretary  S. Ajit Singh Basra, Vice President S. Jagjit Singh,  CKD Resident President/Education Conference Welcome Committee Chairman  S. Santokh Singh Sethi, Educational Committee Honorary Secretary/Education Conference General Secretary Dr. Sarabjit Singh Chhina, Add.  Honorary Secretary S. Jaspal Singh Dhillon, Head Office Member In-charge S. Sukhjinder Singh Prince,  S.  Bhagwantpal Singh Sachar,  S. Rajinder Singh Marwaha, S. Gurpreet Singh Sethi, Director/Principal Dr. Dharamveer Singh, Director Operations Dr. Amritpal Singh Chawla, Dr. Jasbir Singh Sabhar  and others were present.
