Leh: Principal Secretary, School Education Department (SED), Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar held a meeting to review the physical and financial status of Samagra Shiksha, UT Ladakh.
Principal Secretary pointed out the low expenditure status under the recurring head of various components of Samagra Shiksha. The School Education Department was instructed to quickly appoint the vacant ‘Head Teachers’ posts of UT Ladakh approved by PAB 2021/22. CEO Leh and Kargil were instructed to speed up the process of recruitment of manpower for all the hostels and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBVs) so that these hostels can be made functional fully.
Principal Secretary informed that residential hostels and KGBVs are the priority areas of UT Ladakh and instructed SED and CEOs to work on their strengthening. The functionality of various ICT Labs, Tinkering Labs, and astronomy labs were also discussed. The Department of School Education Ladakh was instructed to impart training to various schools so that these labs could be made fully functional.
The meeting was also attended by DC, Leh; Chief Education Officer, SED, Leh; Zonal Education Officer, Durbuk/Kharu/Leh/ Khaltsi/Nubra/Nyoma and District Education Planning Officer.
