Leh Nov 28 :- District Police Leh in a unique way started 03 weeks long awareness series campaign title SATARKTA HI BACHAV (Your Alertness is your Safety) across the district in which school children, youth and general public shall be focused to aware about menace of drugs, cyber crime, financial fraud and crime against women and children etc.
The awareness series programme was inaugurated today at Jamyang High School Leh by Ms PD Nitya IPS SSP Leh in which large numbers of student and teacher of the school attended.
DYSP Hqr Leh Sh Regzin Sangdup JKPS while welcoming the chief guest and other dignitaries highlighted about the awareness campaign series in which he stated that the main aim of conducting awareness programme is to sensitize and alert the young budding students, teachers and general public about the menace of drug, cyber crime, financial frauds, crime against women and children and allied social media crime which is being getting prevalent among the citizens now a days.
Ms PD Nitya IPS SSP Leh who was the chief guest on the occasion while interacting with students and teacher emphasize on the strict maintenance of cyber hygien thereby making safe usage of social media platform to prevent oneself from cyber crimes, financial frauds and other allied social media crime and advised the students and teacher to always maintain cyber hygien at school and at their home while using Android mobiles phones and social media platform, she expressed her gratitude to the students, teachers and principal of the institute for the good number of student and teacher participation in the awareness programme who were found listening to the awareness programme with keen intrest and passions. SSP Leh while interacting with media persons on the occasion informed that similar awareness programme shall be conducted all across the district by district police Leh to bring awareness among the law abiding citizen of the district.
The cyber expert team of district police Leh have brief the audience in detail through power point presentation about the emerging Social media crimes and sensitized the participants about various cyber frauds/financial frauds like online scam, OTP fraud, OLX fraud, bank impersonating calls, custom duty frauds, sextortions and Instagram/Facebook account hacking etc and aware the participants not to fall prey to the fraudsters who ask you to install/down load suspicious remote access apps, ask for OTPs, passwords etc, also informed that while searching for genuine customer care number, always visit official and authentic website of the concerned banks, UPIs, Merchant/Airlines etc, they were also advice to use the android mobile phone with utmost safety and not to click and respond on any unknown link and phone calls.
Similarly Women Police Station Leh have conducted an awareness series programme at Govt Girl Hr Sec School Leh about the prevalent of drug menace in the society and it’s consequences on children in which around 200 students and teacher participated.
The Anti Narcotic Unit of District Police Leh also conducted an awareness programme on drug abuse and it’s I’ll effect on youth at Moravian Mission School Leh to the students and teachers of the School.
A similar awareness programme has also been conducted at Community Hall Alchi by Police Post Khalsi in which respectable citizens and general public of the area participated.
Principal Jamyang School Mr Tundup, Insp Sonam Rigzin SHO Police Station Leh, Insp Rigzin Gurmath IC PP Housing Colony Leh were also present during the occasion and also shared their view on the above topics during the awareness programme.
