DC Kargil chairs SVEEP awareness program at GHSS Trespone

Kargil: Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness program for Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls today held a sensitization program organized by District SVEEP Team Kargil at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Trespone on National Constitution Day, celebrated every year on November 26.

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil/District Election Officer, Santosh Sukhadeve, Deputy District Election Officer Khanzadha Muhammad Usman, Tehsildar/AERO Trespone, Principal GHSS Trespone, SVEEP Nodal Officer, SVEEP Experts, Sarpanchs, Panchs, public representatives, young voters, BLO supervisor, BLOs, staff and students of GHSS Trespone attended the program.

On the special occasion of National Constitution Day, DC Kargil recounted the tireless efforts of great leaders who sacrificed their lives for Indian Independence. The preamble of Constitution was read on the occasion. He stressed to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity and the ideals and institutions included in the Constitution.

DC Santosh also talked about the SVEEP awareness program and emphasized on the program agenda. He said youth should learn to cast their vote for the right candidate adding that one vote can decide future of the country or any region.

DDEO Muhammad Usman appreciated the progress made by SVEEP team in the past one month with the help of voters and other stakeholders. He said SVEEP program is aimed to make people, especially young voters, aware about the importance of election and participation in Electoral Rolls. On the occasion, AERO/Tehsildar, Trespone directed the concerned BLOs to complete the documentation of every eligible voter before the qualifying dates.

Earlier, Rubaba Khatoon, a student of GHSS Trespone, presented welcome speech and thanked the chief guest and other participants for attending the awareness program. Later, Bashir Hussain presented vote of thanks to the chief guest and all the other dignitaries.
