Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh Sonam Chosjor today chaired a
town hall programme at Conference Hall, Hotel The Zen Ladakh, Leh regarding the Nation-Wide Intensive Awareness Programme (NIAP) being conducted by State Bank of India with collaboration of all banks from
November 1st to November 30, 2022 initiated by Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) to enhance public awareness on Financial Customer right, Internal
Grievance Redress as well as the Alternate Grievance Redress
mechanism of RBI.
The programme was attended by Tsering Morup, Convenor UTLBC of UT
Ladakh, Dorjay Angchuk Zonal Head J&K Bank UT Ladakh, Tsering
Wangmo Lead District Manager Leh and Branch Manager of all Banks
were present during the programme. The Programme was also attended
by various segments of customers of different banks.
Smt Tsering Wangmo LDM Leh has welcomed the chairperson and
participants and highlighted the camps conducted by different bank
branches of Leh District. Sh.Simranjeet Negi Manager of SBI explains the
importance of Nation-Wide Intensive Awareness Programme (NIAP) and
Internal Redressal Mechanism of RBI Ombudsman Scheme. He also
advised not to answer on phone calls asking for OTP or any other calls for
big lotteries. He said banks never ask for OPT and Debit card/credit card
details on phone calls.
Sh. Sonam Chosjor, ADC speaking on the occasion that bank needs to
conduct more awareness among the public especially in rural areas. He
also spoke to avoid the fake calls and remain vigilant while doing digital
transaction
Lastly Lead District Manager has given vote of thanks to the participants
present in today’s event.
