UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 23: Government Degree College Neeli Nallah Udhampur, in collaboration with NDRF Unit Udhampur, J&K (UT), today organised Awareness Programme on ‘College Safety’ on the college campus here under the Guidance of Prof Hans Raj, Principal of the college.
On the commencement of the programme, Javed Iqbal, Assistant Commandant, NDRF Unit Udhampur, J&K, in his message said that NDRF carries out rescue and relief operations during natural disasters. Till Date, NDRF has carried out 73 operations in the country and saved approximately 1.3 lakh human lives. In addition, NDRF has capability to respond to nuclear, biological and chemical disasters.
The session started with an awareness lecture on first aid in case of injury, accident, disaster etc. Further lecture & practical demonstration on fire safety was also delivered to the students. An awareness lecture was delivered by Constable Divakar Kumar on the theme “College Safety and Awareness Programme” valedictory session was conducted where NDRF team visited the institution as a part of the programme and showed the students how to rescue a victim during floods. The NDRF team also provided a First Aid Kit to the College.
Principal of the college congratulated the NDRF team and other stakeholders for this initiative as it prepares the young youth for selfless activities.
The session ended with an interactive session where students actively participated. Prof. Shaista Yasmeen was the convenor of the programme. Prof. Swati Dutt, Dr. Radha Rani, Dr. Ranjeeta langeh were the members of the Organizing Committee. Dr. Renu Gupta, Dr. Parul Chibber, Dr. Imtayaz Bhatti, Manisha Kachru, Shalu Jamoria, Riya Bajral were also present.
