Samba: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has demanded restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir in view of growing alienation among the people against the LG administration.

Addressing a meeting in Ramgarh in Samba District, the Former Minister said that the people are angry with the present style of working by the LG Administration as their concerns are not being addressed and the developmental activities have come to stand still.

The meeting was held after the inauguration of Apni Party Office at Ramgarh by Provincial President Jammu, S. Manjit Singh in presence of District President Raman Thappa, ST Wing J&K President Saleem Alam, SC Wing Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat, Ramgarh Candidate, Adv Sahil Bhagat, Vice President Samba District, Ram Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Vijaypur and SC Wing District President, Capt Joginder, Block President, Ramgarh, Bachan Choudhary, Block President, Rajpura, Raman Sharma, Block President Vijaypur, Capt Mohan Lal Sharma, Bhagat Sai Das, District Vice President Jammu Urban, Vaibhav Mattoo, District Youth President Mangat Ram, Adv Rajinder Bhagat and others.

On this occasion, over two dozen youth joined the Apni Party. Welcoming these youth into the party fold, Manjit Singh hoped that their joining would strengthen the Party.

Meanwhile, he referred to the inability and failure of the authorities on the ground to perform. “The failures have given rise to many issues as the public issues were not addressed and the unemployment continued to remain rising in the last four years,” he said.

He said that the people are unable to understand whom to approach and where to go as the general masses are not being given heed by the authorities across Jammu and Kashmir.

In the present circumstances, he said that the people want early restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and holding of assembly polls in J&K.

“If statehood is restored and elections are held, the people will get the right to elect their Govt and that Govt would have rights to work for the people without interference from the LG,” he added.

He said that “The bureaucracy is not accountable to the public suffering but the elected Govt is completely responsible towards the public concerns and these issues are addressed on fast track.”

He said that the recruitment in various departments have emerged as major recruitment scams and the selection lists were cancelled which has worried the unemployed youth. “The youth have become overaged while waiting for the recruitment in various departments. Similarly the development is in the back step and the border belt is one of the worst examples where the people suffer due to the negligence of the authorities,” he added.
