Ladakh: BJP Ladakh extended heartfelt congratulations and Tashi Delex to His Holiness Dalai Lama lay who was conferred with the first Gandhi-Mandela Peace Award this morning by the Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in a ceremony organised by the Gandhi Mandela Foundation in McleodGanj, HP.
The Gandhi-Mandela Peace Award serves to recognise the respected global leaders who inspire citizens for peace, unity and freedom. As mentioned by the Hon’ble Governor that His Holiness Dalai Lama lay is “perhaps the most deserving person in the world today” for the award and called him a “universal ambassador of peace”. His Holiness was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. The first commitment of His Holiness is the promotion of human values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and self-discipline. Secondly, His Holiness is committed to promoting religious harmony — respect and understanding among different creeds.
Hence, BJP Ladakh once again congratulate His Holiness Dalai Lama lay. May His Holiness live a long, healthy and happy life for the betterment of all sentient beings.
