Leh, Nov 13: Chairperson, Block Development Council (BDC), Singge-Lalok, Stanzin Yangdol, along with other members, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
Chairperson BDC, Singge-Lalok, Stanzin, requested for delimitation of the Singge-Lalok community development (CD) block and the creation of an additional Halqa/Gram Panchayat for the Yulchung-Neraks-Gongma revenue village for the overall development and smooth conduct of all the Rural Development Department (RDD) works in the Singge Lalok area.
A delegation led by President, Student Union Nubra, Stanzin Chosphel, raised several issues related to the youth in Nubra sub-division, viz. construction of a multi-purpose/indoor stadium; setting up of an IGNOU Centre; setting up of a student-oriented Community Information Centre; setting up of a career counselling centre/career guidance in schools at regular intervals; the need for proper classrooms, transportation, playground and a multipurpose hall at Government Degree College, Nubra; proper facilities and staff at Sub-District Hospital in Nubra, etc.
A delegation of PhD holders of Ladakh in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary Science led by Dr Mansoor Ali met LG Mathur and raised several issues, including filling up various teaching and non-teaching posts at various constituent units of SKUAST Kashmir in Ladakh.
Director, GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Prof Sunil Nautiyal, called on LG Mathur to apprise about the Institute and their various ongoing and future projects in Ladakh.
