Kargil Oct 07 :- The ICDS Department Zanskar today conducted an awareness program at Pipcha Middle School (Panchayat Halqa Raru Muney) where Anganwadi Center is also merged. It was the first such camp in Lungnaq Block.
The program was started by the ICDS Supervisor Kacho Mustafa in the presence of Raru Muney Sarpanch Tashi Dawa, Punch Tsering Samdup, School Master Tsering Gyatso, medical team and staff of ICDS Zanskar.
In the camp, the ICDS beneficiaries especially children and pregnant/lactating mothers and local population were also present.
During the camp, the supervisor briefed the general public about motive of the program. He said the program is aimed to aware the general public to address the issues of weaker sections of society like malnourished children, women in distress, specially-abled persons, old age persons etc.
The supervisor also briefed about the schemes of the department especially the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) scheme and how pregnant women get benefit from such schemes. The supervisor said that till now they have conducted such camps at five Panchayat Halqa’s. In the camp, the supervisor registered six new beneficiaries of PMMVY.
