Jammu Oct 06 :- Yasir, accused of killing Director General Prisons DG Hemant Lohia, had attempted suicide after the incident. After absconding, he hid in an empty plot, where he tied his belt to a tree and tied it, but the belt broke. This saved him.
According to sources, Yasir has told all these things to the police officers during interrogation. Although no one is officially confirming this. No police officer is refusing to speak on the matter. Sources say that on Wednesday, the police has also got Yasir’s medical checkup done.
Police arrived with Yasir at two places
Sources say that on Wednesday, the police took Yasir to two places. There is a place in this, where he tried to kill himself by hanging with his belt. Second at the petrol pump of Bohri area. Yasir had taken petrol or diesel from this petrol pump. He said at the petrol pump that the DGP had sent him to get oil.
Yasir said – I killed DG
Ramban, a resident of Yasir Lohar, who was Lohia’s helper, has admitted that he had killed the DG. The motive behind committing the murder is not yet disclosed by the police. But sources say that Yasir has told the police during interrogation that he was hurt over not getting a job. Because of this the DGP was killed.
It is also being told that before becoming the helper of Yasir Lohia, he used to work as a helper in the house of an IAS officer for 4 years. Some time ago the said officer fired it.
After this it was recommended to keep Yasir with another senior official. But the said officer refused. Later Yasir was kept with DGP Jail Hemant Lohia.(AGENCIES)
