Baramulla Oct 06 :- All eyes were on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s public meeting in Baramulla. Thousands of people gathered in this public meeting from remote areas of the Kashmir Valley. Wherever the eyes went, people were seen raising slogans of Har Har Modi and Amit Shah Zindabad. The pandal was full, people were seen dancing and singing along with drums.

People in the public meeting say that Amit Shah’s announcement of giving Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to Gujjar-Bakarwal and hills in Rajori, has raised the hopes of these communities in the Valley as well. The government should implement this announcement soon. Taufeeq Ahmed, who came from Tangdhar Karnah area adjoining the LoC of Kupwara district, told that he had many expectations from the Home Minister, which he announced in Rajori, now wants to see it fulfilled. Due to this announcement, a large number of hill people have come here in Baramulla.

He said that he is very happy about the announcement made by the Home Minister. Taufeeq said, we have never seen such a sight before as seen in this rally. Our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers are all fed up with the family politics here. Today we are all educated, but we have to walk 40 kilometers to reach our district headquarters. And we hope that the Modi government will connect them by road connectivity. Give ST status and Sadhna tunnel will be available to connect our area, so that the road which is closed due to snowfall in winter can be restored.

Mohammad Sadiq, who arrived at the rally from a village adjacent to the LoC in Uri sector of Baramulla district, said, “We have high hopes.” The way Amit Shah on Tuesday announced equal status to hills and Gujjar-Bakarwals, it has raised hopes. He said, just as the soldiers of the Indian Army guard the border, similarly we people of the border stand with the army gracefully, so we want that the announcement that has been made should be implemented soon. Siddiq said regional parties used them for vote bank for 70 years, but when it came to giving, they did not give anything.

Valley is now taking a turn: BJP leader RP Singh

BJP’s national spokesperson RP Singh, who arrived specially from Delhi, pointed to the crowd present at the rally and said, “This Kashmir is taking a turn, this is the new Kashmir.” This is post-2019 Kashmir, which has been made out of familism and corruption. Targeting Mufti, Abdullah and the Gandhi family, he said, “Those who are present in this rally want to stay away from all those who have looted Kashmir for 70 years.” Now people want to live with Modi and Amit Shah’s new Kashmir. RP Singh said that more than 50 thousand people have joined us in this rally, in which a large number of women and youth are involved, due to which Kashmir is giving a message to the whole country today that it is not the Kashmir of 1990, but the Kashmir of 2022.
