Jammu Oct 01 :- The police has refuted the rumors of kidnapping and theft of children in the city on social media. SSP Chandan Kohli released a video in this regard on Friday, calling it a rumour. Claimed that no such gang is active in the city.
However, he requested the parents of the children studying in different schools to immediately inform the police if any such incident comes to their notice. The SSP said that the police had no information about the existence of any such gang.
This is just rumour. Despite this, patrolling has been increased in the entire district. It is noteworthy that on social media some chatting of a WhatsApp group of parents of children studying in a private school in the city went viral on social media.
In this, parents were talking to each other that unknown people outside the school tried to give chocolates and ice cream to their children and said that all this was sent by their parents.
However, the children did not take it and gave this information to their parents. Not only this, even before the kidnapping incident in Kishtwar, videos of kidnapping incidents in Jammu and Bari Brahmana were becoming viral on social media.(Agencies)
