Kargil, September 21, 2022: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor UT Ladakh, Umang Narula on Sunday visited Minamarg to inspect the construction work of Zojila tunnel eastern portal.

At Zojila tunnel, Imtiyaz Ahmed, site incharge informed the advisor that around 2 km excavation has been done from the eastern portal (Minamarg) of the tunnel and around similar length of excavation has been achieved at the western side of the tunnel (Baltal side).

He also informed the advisor that besides the excavation, other works inside the tunnel are going on in full swing. The advisor also inquired from the concerned officer about the winter stocking of essential material for the construction works. The concerned officer informed the advisor that dumping of necessary materials is under process and will be completed soon.

The advisor also instructed the concerned officer to provide all necessary arrangements for laborers during winter season for their safety.

Later, the advisor also visited Lamochan village and took stock of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works. The concerned officer from the PHE Department informed that all the households have been connected with Functional Household Tapes (FHTHs) adding that the water supply will be started within a week.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, Sub Divisional Magistrate Drass (SDM) Mukhtar Ahmed, Station House Officer (SHO) Drass besides other concerned officers accompanied the advisor during his visit.
