Jammu Sep 19 :- National Conference (NC) came down heavily Sunday on the inclusion of “non-local” voters in the J&K electoral rolls, calling it a “great threat” that will muzzle the voice of natives. “The rights of the people of J&K are being trampled,” said NC Jammu region provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta at a day-long workshop, titled “Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in Jammu and Kashmir”. NC has been one of the regional parties that has objected to the electoral rolls revision entering people from other states living in the Union territory and now eligible to vote. NC president Farooq Abdullah had cautioned the Centre and Election Commission before that Kashmiris won’t accept “voting rights to non-natives of J&K”.
