Bhopal Sep 19 :- A 17-year-old girl, who had gone to visit a temple with her fiancé in MP’s Rewa, was gang-raped by six men on Saturday when the couple was strolling in a nearby jungle. The fiancé was beaten up and forced to watch the assault.
Police rounded up five suspects, including two minors, within 24 hours of the complaint, SP Navneet Bhasin said. While three were caught in Rewa late Saturday, two were apprehended from Mumbai on Sunday.
“A police team from Rewa was in Mumbai in another case. After two gang rape suspects were tracked to Mumbai, this team was activated and they were caught,” said the SP. Police and the administration razed illegal structures built by three of the accused.
On Saturday, the fiancé went to girl’s house and the duo drove to temple. After darshan, they were strolling in a jungle nearby when six men accosted them. They overpowered the fiancé, thrashed him, and dragged them to bushes where they raped her.
