Jammu Sep 13 :- Tuesday, 13th September 2022: Dy. Mayor Jammu Muncipal Corporation Adv. Purnima Sharma inaugurates one month long Environmental awareness campaign dedicated to 75th Platinum Celebration of Independence at RM Public School Chowdhi Jammu.
The campaign has been organized by J&K Rural Sprots Club jammu, a jammu based Regd NGO incollaboration with R.M Public School Chowdhi Jammu and Shiksha Niketan Educational Group of institutions, assissted by J&K U.T Urban Forestry Department Jammu and District youth services and sports department Jammu for promotion of “A Good Environment for stronger India.”
The inauguration ceremony began with a seminar on the topic ” How to create a good environment for a better society wherein students from various educational institutions spoke on the subject.
Chief Guest of the occasion Dy. Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma during her addressed complimented the organizers and urged the necessity for a good environment in present scenario as global warming and its adverse effects are becoming advent.
She also advised for plantations of trees and plantations be made as a social custom for promotion of this cause. She also informed that Jammu Muncipal Corporation under Prime Minister Narinder Modi’s guidance have already initiated many awareness programs and which are being reaching out to people.
Earlier Dy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma planted 75 trees along with school children and organizers in the premises of the school.
Mr Narinder singh President in his welcome addressed inform that this campaign is aimed to create awareness through the medium of various educational, cultural and Sports activities to spread the message at grassroot level and our students are our Ambassadors for carry on the mission .
Sh. Sunil Singh DFO Urban Forestry Jammu delivered an extensive lecture on the topic and informed that department has achieved the target of 1.5 million planting of trees during this session. He also answered all the queries raised by the student during questions answer’s session and assured full technical assistance for the upliftment of this cause .
Director R.M School Management Rakshan Mengi presented vote of thanks and highlighted the achievements under taken by the management . He informed besides giving excellent academic education our institution lays stress on extra curriculum activies to give practical expose to the students for incalculation of moral values in their studies .
Under the supersion of Ravtej Singh organizer 75th Independence Celebrational plantation Drive is being conducted . Surinder Singh a prominent social activist and urban Forestry officers and officials were present on the occasion .
Proceedings of the function were conducted by the students under the supervision of Vice principal Harvinder kour. Prizes will be given to the participants and winners on the concluding function.
