Jammu/Vijaypur Sep 01 :- Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will review the progress of projects of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) across the country in Delhi on Thursday. The details of AIIMS Vijaypur will also be taken in this two-day meeting. It will mainly discuss OPD in AIIMS or start it completely together.
The basic construction work of AIIMS has been claimed to be completed up to 95 percent. The recruitment process for 80 out of 183 faculty posts created for this prestigious institute has been completed. The selected faculty have been asked to be appointed in the next 45 days, while the process for the recruitment of other faculty will be done in the coming months.
AIIMS Vijaypur project has been targeted to be completed by March 2023 before the scheduled September 2023. That is, people will start getting state-of-the-art medical facilities in this institute, which started six months ago. AIIMS is being constructed on 227 acres of land. At the same time, seats in AIIMS will double in the fourth MBBS batch in the year 2023.
125 MBBS seats will be available in this batch. So far, 50 and 62 seats have been received in the first two batches respectively. By the month of October, 62 MBBS seats will also be available in the third batch. Dr. Shakti Gupta, Director, AIIMS Vijaypur informed that in the meeting with the Union Health Minister, information about the progress of AIIMS will be given. Many aspects will be discussed in this.
80 posts have been filled in AIIMS, due to which the upcoming OPD can be started, but the final decision will be taken only after discussion with the Health Ministry. In the meeting, it is proposed to discuss the scheme of naming AIIMS institutions after local heroes and monuments.
