Jammu Aug 16 :- All the Jammu based units of CRPF  celebrated 76th Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav) with full vigour and enthusiasm. National Flag was hoisted at all the locations. On the occasion, a programme was organized at Group Centre CRPF Campus Jammu. Chief guest Shri P.S. Ranpise, IPS, IGP, Jammu Sector hoisted the National Flag at the Quarter Guard in presence of senior officers, subordinate officers and Jawans of CRPF Campus Jammu.

In his address Shri P.S. Ranpise, IPS, IGP, Jammu Sector mention the importance of the day and said that since independence the CRPF is rendering its valuable services in difficult parts of country and abroad. The CRPF has made a special contribution in thwarting separatist challenge in the country. The CRPF has also made many sacrifices to maintain the unity and sovereignty of the country. Not only this, the force has also achieved success in maintaining law and order situation in the North Eastern states and Naxal/Terrorist affected areas including Jammu & Kashmir. In the present situation of J&K, the CRPF is performing his duty very diligently and is also fighting fiercely with the terrorist.

On this occasion Shri P.S. Ranpise, IPS, IGP, Jammu Sector read out the names of the officers, subordinate officers and Jawans of CRPF who were awarded with 01 Shaurya Chakra, 04 Police Medal for Gallantry(Posthumously), 105 Police Medal for Gallantry, 05 Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished service and 57 Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Along with this taking inspiration from the medal recipients, the chief guest called upon all to do their duty with integrity.

On this occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence 75  Peepal saplings were provided to the Group Center CRPF by “Peepal save People Foundation Trust Jammu” The Chief Guest Shri P.S. Ranpise, IPS, IGP, Jammu Sector, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh, DIG, Group Center CRPF, Jammu, Shri TN Khutia, DIG, Jammu and Kashmir Zone, Shri Pradeep Chandra, DIG and Shri Ashok Samyal, DIG, Jammu Sector, Shri Rakesh Sethi, DIG, CRPF Jammu Range, Sh. Sunnad Kumar Commandant Jammu Sector, Sh. Prem Chandra Gupta, Commandant, Group Center CRPF, Jammu, Dr.Hira Raja CMO(SG) and Dr. M.K. Singh CMO(SG) Joint Hospital, CRPF, Jammu Along with Sh. Pritam Singh founder of Peepal save People Foundation Trust and all gazetted officers/personnel actively participated in  “plantation” of Peepal saplings.

Later on, as per the CRPF tradition a joint refreshment programme for gazetted Officers of all the offices of CRPF campus Jammu was organized by the Subordinate Officers in their mess. Dinner/Bada-Khana was also organized in all the messes of CRPF establishment.

All above programme was organized under the able leadership of Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh, DIGP, in which all Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and Jawans of CRPF also lend their support.
