Jammu, August 10: To celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, IRP-15th Battalion organised two days familiarization and awareness visit of more than 400 School Children to J&K Police Martyrs’ Memorial, Balidan Stambh, Aquarium Cum Entertainment Park Bagh-E-Bahu and Wildlife Sanctuary, Manda Jammu.

On 8th August 2022, 220 Children of Government Model Higher Secondary School, Sunjwan were taken to Martyrs’ Memorial and Aquarium Cum Entertainment Park, Bagh-E-Bahu, Jammu and briefed about the contribution of the freedom fighters in India’s Freedom struggle and sacrifices of Army, Police and Paramilitary forces made to sustain this hard earned Independence and to maintain peace and order in the Society.

On 10th August 2022, another group of 200 students of Government  Model Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu alongwith their teachers were taken to both the Martyrs’ Memorials and Wildlife Sanctuary Manda, Jammu.

On this occasion, Commandant IRP-15th Bn, Mubassir Latifi highlighted the role of Police in channelizing the energies of youth and harnessing their talent and skills in academic, sports and other Co-curricular activities under Civic Action Programmes.

He assured the School Children that more such interactions would be held in future also to make people particularly Youth and School children aware about their legal rights and duties and their role to build a self respecting, self reliant and prosperous nation. On this occasion, he also thanked Principals of the Schools, Teachers and other staff who actively participated to make these programmes successful.
