Gymnast Bavleen to represent country, Krupali selected coach for Commonwealth Games

Jammu Jul 29:- The trainee of Sports Council’s Gymnastics Academy Jammu, Bavleen has been selected to represent India, while In-charge of Gymnastics Academy Jammu, Gymnastics coach Krupali Singh (Arjuna Awardee) has been nominated as coach, in the Commonwealth Games- 2022, being held at Birmingham (UK) from July 29 to August 8.

It is a very pride moment for J&K that out of 210 athletes cleared by Govt of India, wherein Bavleen is the only participant from the country to contend in ‘Rhythmic Gymnastics’ event, besides three male and three female Gymnasts shall represent country in Men and Women Artistic Gymnastics events, whereas Incharge of Sports Council’s Gymnastics Academy Krupali Singh has been nominated as coach of the national team.

Krupali had also featured as team coach of India in the previous editions of CWG 2010 at Delhi and 2014 in Scotland and many World Cup/ Championships, Asian Games/ Championship from time to time.

Bavleen is a recipient of prestigious J&K State Award for outstanding sports person – 2019 is the elite Gymnast of the country and has made J&K proud many times by her performance by bringing laurels for the country and UT from time to time.

Earlier, Bavleen has represented country in last editions of World RG Championships at Japan and Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Thailand and won four Bronze medals in the 3rd Rhythmic Gymnastics Emirates Cup at Dubai, 5th position in the Rhythmic Gymnastics Thailand Open at Bangkok.

Kiran Wattal, vice president GFI and president Gymnastics Association of J&K along with Ravinder Singh (Secretary) congratulated both of them for representing the country in the CWGs.
