Srinagar Jul 29 :- Terrorists can target security forces with magnetic IEDs on the occasion of Independence Day in Kashmir Valley. Security agencies have received inputs in this regard. This was recently shared in a high level meeting on 26th July. In fact, security agencies have received inputs about the movement of terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization in Budgam district and having magnetic IED with them.
Due to this, instructions have been issued to all security agencies to remain alert as well as to increase security around security installations. According to sources, movement of local Lashkar terrorist Latif Ahmed Rather and Jaish-e-Mohammed’s local terrorist Asif Ahmed Reshi alias Hubaib has been seen in some parts of Budgam district of central Kashmir.
He said the inputs received by intelligence agencies further reveal that Latif is in possession of a magnetic IED and both may try to attack the security forces during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. Apart from this, the planning of terrorist attacks can also be seen in the context of upcoming celebrations of 75th Independence Day in Kashmir Valley.
He said that apart from this, recently, a few days ago, the movement of 4 foreign terrorists was seen in Palpora area under Safakadal police station area of Srinagar. According to sources, these terrorists also spent the night in an abandoned building in the area.
Let us inform that keeping all these inputs in mind, the security forces in these areas where the movement of terrorists were seen have been ordered to remain alert keeping in mind the Amarnath Yatra. According to sources, this input has been shared with all the security agencies.
Apart from this, along with increasing the security of all security establishments, it has also been asked to sanitize the surrounding areas. It has already been acknowledged by the security agencies that magnetic IEDs are a big challenge for them.
Anti tank mines disabled
A live anti-tank mine near the International Border in Samba was neutralized by a team of security forces. It is being told that the police and security forces reached the spot as soon as the information was received and took possession of the anti-tank mines. After which the information was given to the Bomb Disposal Squad, after reaching the spot, the Bomb Disposal Squad defused the Anti Tank Mines.(AGENCIES)
