Jammu, July 29:- The first batch of 1,056 pilgrims on Friday left here for Baba Buddha Amarnath temple in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Additional Director General of Police (Jammu Zone) Mukesh Singh flanked by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar flagged off the pilgrims who left in 24 vehicles.

Surrounded by Loran valley, Baba Buddha Amarnath is situated 290 km from Jammu at 4,600 feet above the sea level alongside the river Pulasti.

The pilgrimage remained suspended for two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
