GDC Kargil organizes multi-lingual Mushaira

Kargil Jul 28 :- Department of Urdu Govt. Degree College Kargil in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS) unit on Wednesday organized a multi-lingual Mushaira.

For this poetic symposium, 27 poets of Ladakh were invited out of which 17 poets including two student poets Kaneez Fatima Neezu, GDC Kargil and Mohd Younous Anees, student of Sanko campus of GDC Kargil also recited their poetry and impressed the audience.

The program began with welcome address by Assistant Professor Urdu, Imtiyaz Ismayil Alaei. The poetic session started with a Naat by a renowned young poet of Kargil Taqi Khan Nayab.

Other poets who participated in mushaira were Kaneez Fatima Neezu, 6th Semester GDC Kargil, Mohammad Younous Anees Sankoo Campus GDC Kargil, Liaqat Ali Karkiti, Abdul Hadi Balti, Nissar Hussain Nissar, Haji Ali Baba, Maulana Feroze Rabbani, Taqi Khan Nayab, Mukhtar Zahid Karkiti, Ilyas Kargili, Jawad Jalib Ameeni, Ashraf Ali SagaSagar, Muhammad Shafi Sagar, Nasir ud Din Khafi, Akbar Ali Khan Shaheen, Raza Amjed Karkiti and Muhammad Ali Ashoor to name a few.

Incharge Principal Dr Javed Iqbal Naqi appreciated Urdu Department for organizing the poetic symposium. He acknowledged the efforts of NSS unit and encouraged it for this collaboration.

He cited the example of an online national level mushaira organized by the Department of Urdu in collaboration with the then IQAC Cell in 2019 where non-local poets in that very symposium had acknowledged the poetic acumen of Ladakhi poets, particularly of Kargil.

Mohd Javad, Assistant Professor and HoD Urdu Department presented the vote of thanks. He said that Urdu Department has been organizing such kind of literary events from time to time to create literary taste among students. The program was moderated by young poet of Kargil Liaqat Karkiti.
