Kargil Jul 28 :- Executive Councilor Horticulture, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili today visited Drass to review the functioning of the Handloom Department.
During the tour, the EC interacted with the employees of the Handloom Department and inquired from them about the staff strength in the sub-division.
He also gave a patient listening to the demands of staff like lack of electricity, submersible pump, requirement of tailoring section, spinning section, showroom, drinking water etc.
Later, the EC visited knitting and weaving section and interacted with the trainees. It was informed that there are 35 trainees including 15 in knitting and 20 in weaving. The trainees demanded tailoring and spinning section just like other divisions of Kargil district.
At the knitting section, the products which are available include sweaters, shawls, dupatta etc. and the Handloom Department also sells these products to the people.
